about

A few more IK out-takes - some really good ones, honestly - and an alternate ending...

That is instead of going out with a whimper as we did in 2009 when we played our last show (unknown to the band at the time) to about 15 people, here's a bit of a bang; recordings from our sold out (!) show we did with Laura, This Is Your Captain Speaking and Because of Ghosts on 8 September 2018 at the Gasometer right here in Melbourne. The recording is fairly rough and you could almost listen to the conversations of the less invested punters in attendance, but the performance was pretty good and it is worth sharing, if I may say so myself.

These songs were very basically recorded with a hand held hard-disc device, but sound ok and, well, it's free if you want it! It's (now) the entire performance, so feel the unedited IK 'magic'.

The usual IK lineup on the studio recordings but the 2018 live show had the following updated and expanded new IK, which consists of:

Daniel Brownrigg
Callan Fox
Mark Mascia
Aaron Pepper
Adam Shirley

released February 16, 2021

Live stuff recorded by nobody other than Adam leaving his stereo recorder sitting on top of the mixing desk.

"Collapse" is a brief loop of a CD spazzing out.

The rest are the usual IK demo recordings, almost totally unmixed/unmastered straight out of the rehearsal room.

A glimpse at that brief moment in time at the turn of the century when it all seemed possible; through the healing wash of delay and reverb, slow songs at high volumes, stamping of the feet and staring at the ceilings.
