We used to record demos onto a portable recorder using two or three mics positioned around the room. The results often sounded pretty good and the performances captured were sometimes exciting and with an energy that was missing on later attempts.

Get into some unvarnished IK right here. Most of the songs on this album are previously unreleased / unheard, a few are demo versions of songs found elsewhere - but these versions have a vibe that's missing (or at least very different) in the released takes.

These would have been recorded at various stages circa 2004-2009 or thereabouts. Poly would have done rough mixes on the machine and Mark did some basic edits and volume normalisation - for that punchy top-40 sound.
